Counseling Staff

Counseling Staff are hired to fulfill the job description of a Group Counselor and/or one other Central Staff Position (Nature Leader, Craft Leader, Kitchen Assistant, Maintenance Assistant/Relief Counselor, Lifeguard/Maintenance Assistant/Relief Counselor or Horse Program Assistant).  If staff members are hired for just one camper session, at the end of the training program they will be assigned either as a Group Counselor or a Central Staff depending on need and individual skills.  If staff members are hired for more than one camper session, they will normally fill the position of Group Counselor for one of those sessions and may fill the position of Group Counselor or one of the Central Staff positions for the other camper session, again, depending on need and individual skills.

Volunteer Staff

There are a variety of volunteer positions available each summer that one may apply for.  All new volunteers to Redwood Adventure Camp must contact our Director of Summer Programs prior to submitting an application (mary@redwoodadventure.org).

Employment Forms for Hired Staff

Welcome!  Now that you have received and accepted your contract, here are some more forms to fill out!!  If you have any questions, you can contact Mary (mary@redwoodadventure.org) or Kelly (Kelly@redwoodadventure.org) or simply call the office number 707-984-6877 and leave a message if you get the voicemail.  Soon we will all be together at Camp!!

General Information – this is information about the nuts and bolts of living at Camp, be sure to open, read and print/download for future reference.

Immunization Record/Health Exam This form should be completed by your physician and must be completed your first year on staff.

Fingerprinting – Request for Live Scan –must be completed the first year you work for Redwood Adventure Camp even if you were fingerprinted for another job.  Fill out form and make 3 copies – take all 3 copies to your nearest Live Scan location.  If you are in the Sonoma/Marin County area please contact Ameriprints (http://www.ameriprints.com/).  One copy comes to us as soon as possible for your background check.  Keep your receipt for reimbursement!

Mandated Reporter Training – If you did not complete this last summer, you will receive an email from the American Camp Association (ACA) with login information and directions.

i-9 Form – Filled out once when first hired, so only complete if you have not filled out an I9 Form before for Redwood Adventure Camp.  Please bring your identification with you when you bring the form to Lifeguard Training or Staff Training.  Your passport, if you have one, is the best!  If you don’t have a passport, you will need two forms of ID.  Suggested ID’s:  Driver’s license or School ID with picture and Social Security Card or certified copy of your Birth Certificate.  Check the last page of the I9 Form for more options.

W4 Form – For paid staff only, must fill out your first year of employment with the Camp and any year your information changes, this form tells us how much tax to withhold from your paycheck.
